Law Week 2018: Chioma Deere mentors law program students at Palm Beach Lakes High School

In celebration and support of Law Week 2018, attorney Chioma Deere participated in a Speed Law Session at Palm Beach Lakes High School on May 2. Starting 7:30 a.m., Chioma spoke with freshman and senior law program students in the magnet program’s courtroom. During the two hour session, she answered student questions about her law practice, options for college, and what the journey was like to become an attorney.
The impromptu conversations were refreshing, inspiring, and tremendously fulfilling, Chioma said following the event.
“I found myself having deep discussions on what makes life as an attorney enjoyable and encouraging them in the process,” she said.
Palm Beach Lakes High School students in the law magnet program, which is led by The Gerald A. Williams Center for Pre–Law, are introduced to a wide range of law-related issues by teachers, guest speakers, and field trips.
“It was a pleasure to meet all 20 students and talk to them about their vision, goals and answer their questions of about law and life.”
